Coxco Ngatapa were made to work hard by Watts and Hughes Pirates befroe they could getbthere hands on the Premier Cup.
Pirates were first to score through winger Maise Finau and had the better of the first qarter, by retaining alot of the possesion and playing some smart rugby.
Ngatapa, got into gear eventually and had secured a handy 22-5 half time lead. There classy backs, who were able to spread the ball wide, and no-stop loose forwards, worked together to score some good team tries.
Pirates also punched above their weight in the scrums and had Ngatapa peddling backwards on numerous occassions. Pirates never stopped working and right to the end were pushing for a four try bonus.
Ngatapa were presented the Premier Cup by PBRFU Chairman Malcolm MacLean.
Full time score: 37-17
