Life Members Announced (Thursday 15th December 2011)
Last night the Poverty Bay Rugby Football Union held its 122nd Annual General Meeting - Long time rugby administrators and supports Tony Coutts and Dick Glover were awarded the highest honour in Poverty Bay Rugby - life membership. It is outstanding achievement and the Union is very proud to add two more worthy life members.

Poverty Bay's Representative Team Winners Announced (Thursday 17th November 2011)
Last night the Poverty Bay Rugby Football Union held its annual Rugby awards at the home of rugby here in the Poverty Bay area – More FM Rugby Park. The night saw awards given to all representative ages – Under 13, 14, 16, 18, 20’s, the Poverty Bay B Team, the Poverty Bay Maori Team and of course this years Lochore Cup Champions – our very own Heartland team. The surpreme award for the Paul Sceats Memorial Cup (Player of the year) went to Sione Ngatu, who of course was the sole Poverty Bay representative in this years Heartland 15, coached by Poverty Bay Heartland Coach Grainger Heikell. Poverty Bay Rugby CEO Mark Weatherall said “We have some great players within our region and the challenge for the Poverty Bay Union is to ensure we create every possible opportunity to retain these top players going forward”. “Tonight was a great opportunity to recoginse those players who stood out in the respective teams” Click here for photos from the night. Poverty Bay's Annual General Meeting date set for 2011 (Wednesday 16th November 2011)
The Poverty Bay Rugby Football Union 122nd Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 14th December 2011 at the Rugby Referees Rooms - Rugby Park Gisborne. The meeting is set to start at 6.00pm. For more information and the official notification please click here.

Sport Gisborne Tairawhiti Rising Legends (Tuesday 1st November 2011)
The Tairawhiti Rising Legends initiative is to provide support through the New Zealand Academy of Sport and local providers, for young talented athletes in our region to achieve their sporting goals.The PBRFU would like to see some of our young up and coming rugby players look to apply for this outstanding initiative. ABC for Kids! (Monday 31st October 2011)
Bay Rugby Union have extended the registration process for the 10-12 Year old programme being offered on Tuesday and Thursdays - click here for all the information and to download a registration form. The Monday and Wednesday programmes are now full. Please note registration for the 10-12 years olds now close on Friday 4th November 2011.

Under 16 Poverty Bay Team go down in the final (Thursday 13th October 11)
The Poverty Bay Under 16 team have gone down to the Wellington Development Team 25-12 in todays Under 16 Hurricanes B Division Final in New Plymouth. The game which was played on the main ground at Yarrow Stadium was held in awful conditions with very heavy rain. Once the team return we will load photos from this weeks tournament. Poverty Bay Lochore Cup Champions (Sunday 9th October 11)
The mighty Poverty Bay Heartland team had an outstanding win over South Canterbury today in Timaru - winning 49-22. The game was a had fought affair for the first 40mins before the bay put their foot down in the second 40 with a number of outstanding tries. Click here for photos from the game.
